Writing Circle with Conversation
Write your way out of the winter blues and into the brighter colours of spring
with a shot of creativity and community in the form of a ‘writing circle’.
Bring a piece you’re working on or be inspired by a weekly theme. Each class will include a prompt for live writing, a guided conversation about the challenges and triumphs you are experiencing as a writer, the chance to read aloud from your current work, and some teachings to address the writing-related issues you are facing.
Four Fridays 10:30am-12:30pm April 5, 12, 19 & 26, 2024
in the McNally Robinson Community Classroom (Winnipeg)
Facilitator: Amanda Le Rougetel
Solo art with company
Writers are solo artists, toiling away, alone, at our desks. But the practice of writing can be a collective experience when done ‘live’ in the company of others who also work with words. Whether our stories are invented (fiction) or true to life (creative nonfiction), there is both satisfaction and inspiration when we share our process (and our progress) with each other.
Productive fun
This course offers a safe and nurturing space to write — and the encouragement for you to be the writer you want to be. Bring your work, your questions and your coffee. We’ll write, talk and learn together. Writers of every genre and any skill level are welcome. This is about having fun and being productive together, as writers, coming out of the depths of a Manitoba winter.
